If your vinyl floor begins coming up at the seams (figure A)<#IMG LEFT>, you can repair and reseal it with a kit. First, clean the seam with the cleaner provided in the kit. The cleaner comes in the form of a semiabrasive paste. When the seam is clean, mix the two-part sealer, and apply it along the edge of the seam. Then weigh the seam down so the sealer can melt the edges together properly. If your floor has scuff marks, use a pencil eraser (figure B) <#IMG RIGHT> to wipe them away. Use a commercial grout-cleaning product and a toothbrush to clean grout. You might also want to use a product for removing hard-water deposits. Scuff marks on hardwood floors are usually easy to remove. In most cases you can wipe them off with the bottom of a rubber-soled shoe. If that doesn't work, try removing the marks with a mixture of water and distilled vinegar.
